Create systemd service
1. Prerequisites
Install the required system libraries that MongoDB depends on.

💡 Tip: The tarball method gives you full control over where every file goes. This is ideal for environments with separate mount points for data, logs, and application binaries.
2. Create the mongop OS User
Never run MongoDB as root. Create a dedicated service account.

Create the MongoDB configuration file. The tarball method does not include a default config, so we create one from scratch.

💡 Key settings explained:
cacheSizeGB: 4— Set to ~50% of available RAM. Adjust for your server.bindIp: 192.168.2.101— Restrict to specific IPs.logRotate: reopen— Works withlogrotatefor log management.fork: false— Let systemd manage the process (do not fork).fork: true— Manually start MongoDB from the command line.
9. Configure Transparent Huge Pages (THP)
MongoDB performs poorly with THP enabled. Disable it permanently.

🔴 Critical: Running MongoDB with THP enabled causes significant performance degradation, especially under heavy write workloads. Always disable it.
10. Configure ulimits for the mongod User
MongoDB requires higher-than-default file descriptor and process limits.
